This stitch is also refereed to as the “far-far-near-near”. Begin the stitch slightly further away from the wound edge than a regular simple. After placing this wide simple, on the same side (parallel to the last stitch), take a small, shallow bite near the wound edge. Continuing on to the opposite side, take another small bite to exit. Tie the knot.
